Terms of use

What you can expect from ToolZool, what we ask of you, and the limits of what a free tool can promise.

What this covers

These terms govern your use of the ToolZool website and the tools published on it. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

What the service is

ToolZool provides free utilities that run in your web browser. There is no account, no subscription and no registration. You may use the tools for personal or commercial work without asking us.

Because the tools run on your device, availability of a tool depends on your browser supporting the features it needs. We publish what those requirements are on each tool’s page.

What we ask of you

You may not:

  • use ToolZool to process material you do not have the right to process;
  • use it to produce material that is unlawful in your jurisdiction;
  • attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or its infrastructure;
  • scrape, mirror or redistribute the site’s content in bulk without permission.

Automated use at a scale that degrades the service for others is not acceptable. Ordinary use, however heavy, is fine — the processing happens on your device, so there is no shared resource to exhaust.

Your files

We do not receive your files, so we claim no rights over them and take no responsibility for their content. What you process is yours, and what you do with the result is your responsibility.

Our content

The ToolZool name, the Zooly character, the site’s design, its written guides and its source presentation are ours. You may quote our written content with attribution and a link. You may not reproduce the branding or present the site’s content as your own.

No warranty

ToolZool is provided as is. We work to make the tools correct and we test them, but we do not warrant that any tool is free of defects, that it will produce a particular result, or that it will be available without interruption.

Keep your originals. Compression is lossy and irreversible. Never use a ToolZool tool on the only copy of something you cannot replace.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss of data, loss of profit, or indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, and where that is the case those exclusions do not apply to you.

Availability and changes

We may add, change or withdraw tools without notice. We may update these terms; the current version is always the one on this page, with its revision date at the top. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.

Where we link out, we do so because we think the destination is useful. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

Getting in touch

Questions about these terms can be sent through the contact page.

Who operates ToolZool

ToolZool has only just launched and its operator details are not yet published here. We would rather leave this blank than print a placeholder that looks like a legal entity. It will be filled in, and this notice removed, before the site carries advertising or accepts any payment. In the meantime you can reach us through the contact page.
