Are my files uploaded to ToolZool?
No. The tools run inside your browser tab. The file never travels over the network, which is also why they work on a slow connection and why we cannot see what you processed.
Is it free, and what is the catch?
The tools are free and unlimited on file count, with no watermark, no forced sign-up and no artificial waiting. Nothing is being charged for today: no advertising is running and no payments are connected. The plan is advertising below the tool area and voluntary support, and the privacy policy is updated with a dated revision before either goes live.
Does it need a network connection?
Only to load the page. Once a tool is open and you have picked a file, the compression itself needs no network at all — it runs on your device, so a connection dropping mid-job changes nothing. Revisiting the site while fully offline depends on your browser's own cache; there is no offline app installed, and we would rather say so than promise it.
Why exact sizes rather than a quality slider?
Because a real constraint is usually a number someone else gave you: 50 KB for an exam portal, 2 MB for an email attachment. Working backwards from that number is one step instead of a guessing loop.
Coffees and sponsorships are taken by the processor you choose. Card details are entered on their page — they never pass through ToolZool.
